A Wonderful Week

Good Morning All.

The Sun is shining and in 6 days we start that wonderful "You have more Daylight" time of year.  This has been a very busy week for us.  We celebrated Bob's Birthday twice, once on March 3rd with the younger two, and then again on Sunday with the whole family.  It's been a week of firsts for us - we attended a Shakespeare Festival for 9 hours on Saturday -  Now let me say I for one was not excited about this - but you have to support your child so we went.  It was really enjoyable - I learned alot (She learned even more) She was really
very good and improved each time she performed her scene.  They had to do it 3 times during the day, and then when she received her scores they were really amazing - Job well done Ashlei.

I made two new cakes this week that I have not attempted before, one was a soccer field with all the girls as soccer players.  (Bob's birthday cake - Red Velvet with Raspberry filling.)  And Ashlei and I made just a regular cake (not from scratch) for her Shakespeare Team - It was a pennant cake and it was really cute.

I also made 60 Wedding lollipops out of white and blue chocolate - for a Bridal Shower Christen is giving- so we painted (or should I say Bob painted) 4 flower pots white and we decorated them to match the wedding colors - they came out really nice.  Joy jumped in and figured out how to fill in the sparse areas with curling ribbon - thanks sweetie that was a huge help.

We went to Ashlei's soccer game on Sunday - in Wayne this was a new facility and area for us.  She played well and they won.  But the best part was the entire family spent the day together to celebrate their Dad's birthday - and then off to Fuddruckers for Dinner -

Can I just say that money really isn't everything - it helps to pay the bills - but when you spend a day with your family the love and the laughter that ensues is really what life is all about.  The hugs, the giggles, the jokes the kisses - the thoughtfulness - how could it really get any better than this.  So I would just like to say that Lord You have truely blessed me with riches that cannot be counted out as money could.  The ability to know that I have a family that really "likes" spending time together - that jumps in to help no matter what the
task at hand - that's a perfect week for us.  May God continue to bless each and every one of you with love and laughter.

Spring is almost here

Spring time is one of my personal favorite times of my year.  It always makes me think about what I've
done and what I really want to be doing.  Winter seems to be a stagnent series of months for me, and then as the birds begin to appear in massive groups across my backyard a little spark ignites inside of me.  I can almost hear its words.  From the tiny greens pushing through the earth to the buds on the trees - everything is just a little bit
brighter.  A time of reflection for sure.  How DO those flowers come back every year.  The leaves on the trees, the grass turning a brilliant green - Hope springs eternal - wonder who came up with that?

Anyway I'm excited that the season of warmer days is almost upon us - when we can shed the annoying layers of material we wear to keep us warm.  Time to take stock of what it is I want to be accomplishing,
setting goals and working towards achieving them.  Now Not the first of January for me, seems to be when
I make my choices for what I need to work on - what worked for me - and what I can do to make things
easier for someone else.

God Bless and next weekend we get just a little bit more daylight to enjoy.
